Pokemon Sword & Shield’s Gigantamax Eevee Event Has Started!

Screenshot: Nintendo (GameFreak)

Our favourite Gigantamax Pikachu is leaving Max Raids in Pokemon Sword and Shield today. However, another exclusive Pokemon will take its place. Beginning at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET, Gigantamax Eevee will appear in Max Raid dens around the Wild Area, and it will be available for a limited time only, giving players a chance to catch one.

Before this event was announced, the only way to get a Gigantamax Eevee in Sword or Shield was if you have a save data for Pokemon: Let’s Go Eevee on your Nintendo Switch. If that is the case, then you would receive Gigantamax Eevee as a gift from a character in the Wild Area location. Thanks to this event, even if you don’t own Let’s Go Eevee, you’ll still have a chance to get Gigantamax Eevee.

Similar to Gigantamax Pikachu, Gigantamax Eevee will not be able to evolve. What you need to do is refresh your Raid dens before it beings appearing in your game. You can do this either by connecting online through the Y-Comm or going into the Mystery Gift section and select “Get the Wild Area news.” Gigantimax Eevee will appear in Max Raids only until May 25; after that, it will be replaced by another exclusive Pokemon; Gigantamax Meowth, which was offered before as an early purchase bonus. You can get more details about Gigantamax events on the official Pokemon website.
