Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the most successful entries in the Call of Duty series, part of this interest is its free-to-play battle royale mode, Warzone. However, one aspect of the package that has a lot of fans worked up for months now, and that’s the increase in the size of the game and its updates. The recent, May 18 patch, is no exception to this, its nearly 31 GB across the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Before the patch, the game expected around 180 GB of hard drive space, with some fans protesting that they need about 100 GB free to download a 30 GB patch. When Season 2 was released back in February, fans complained about the size of the accompanying patch. The patch was about 94 GB on PC and smaller on consoles — Infinity Ward stated that future updates of the game would be smaller.
Many fans are continuing to sound their concerns about the ever-expanding file-size of the game. It’s unclear what Infinity Ward is planning to do about the size, besides promising more space.
