Burnout Paradise Remastered – Digital Foundry Analysis

When Burnout Paradise was announced, I was excited that the series finally made it onto the Switch and hoping that Digital Foundry would cover it, and here we are. They take a closer look at the Switch port to see how the game stacks up and compares on Nintendo’s hybrid system.

Information Below:

– The Switch port technically is between the PS3/360 and PS4/XBO remastered.

– 900p native resolution docked, with some differences in quality across the image

– 720p in handheld mode

– Adjustments were made to the game’s decompression algorithm to get it perfectly operating on Switch

– Textures are scaled back on Switch, lower quality than PS4/Xbox One, but better than PS3/360

– Some visual effects lower quality on Switch than PS4/Xbox One

– Shadow quality is also lower quality on Switch than PS4/Xbox One

– Ambient occlusion either on minimal or absent on Switch

– No noticeable pop-in

– Comparable geometry and draw distances to the PS4 version

– Runs on a consistent 60 frames per second with slight hiccups and drops in selected areas

– Frame rate runs a bit better in handheld mode
